MICROBLADING FAQS

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent technique for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows, in which pigment is scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes resembling hair, using a hand tool with a blade formed of tiny needles. This procedure creates the appearance of thicker, fuller brows.

How does it work?

Microblading is the process of making many tiny, superficial cuts in the brow line, which are then filled in with pigments to create darker, fuller brows. Microblading is also used to reshape the brow. It can fill in thinning brows. Hair-thin strokes (cuts) are made to mimic the shape of real eyebrows, creating a natural-looking brow. Microblading results are nearly indistinguishable from real eyebrows.

Does it hurt?

Before the procedure, you are treated with a numbing ointment to reduce any discomfort. The level of pain is similar to eyebrow threading, waxing, or plucking.

How long is the procedure?

This procedure can take up to 2.5 hours. This is because the procedure has several stages, including drawing your desired shape, arch, and brow thickness before the procedure begins. To ensure that things look exactly as you want, it's a delicate process that requires precision and attention to detail.

What happens after?

You will avoid getting your brows wet for a week. You will be instructed to use an aftercare ointment for healing. Your brows will look much darker at first, but some color will fade after a week or so.

How long does it last?

The results usually last 1 to 3 years. Because it's semi-permanent, the pigment will eventually fade. You should consider a touch-up after 12 months. That's more than 365 days without having to touch a brow pencil or brush!

Who should get Microblading?

This is great for those who want to redefine their eyebrows. Whether you have naturally thin brows or your brow ends are fading with age, microblading can add volume and color to your eyebrows. Microblading can also reshape your brows, adding more arch or detail to your shape.

Who cannot get Microblading?

  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People who have keloid scars
  • People who have autoimmune disease
  • People who are on blood thinners
  • People who were on Accutane in the last year
  • People who have had Botox in the last 2 weeks in the area
  • Stop Retin-A /Retinal 1 week prior
  • People who are sunburnt or have dermatitis

EYELASH EXTENSION FAQS

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Extensions are semi-permanent lashes that are applied to each natural lash. Extensions add length, fullness, and curl! They are available in all lengths, curls, and sizes to give you the customized look you desire.

How long do extensions last?

Extensions will shed with your natural lash and are dependent on the growth cycle of your lashes, as well as your aftercare commitment. Refills are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks, but some may be able to go up to 5 weeks.

How long does the first full set application take?

Every client's natural lashes are different, so the application can take 90-120 minutes, with refills taking 45-60 minutes.

What do extensions feel like?

Extensions feel weightless and look and feel soft and natural.

Do extensions harm your natural lashes?

Proper application and quality brands, used with appropriate aftercare, will help reduce damage to your lashes. Most people who wear lash extensions do so for very long periods and years without a break, without issues, and with healthy, natural lashes underneath. Having a lash stylist with experience, credentials, and quality products is essential to your lash investment.

What will lash extensions do?

They will eliminate the need for mascara, create a more youthful appearance, add length and volume to your lashes, and improve your self-confidence. People will be fooled and wonder what your new beauty secret is!

LASH LIFT FAQS

What is a Lash Lift?

A lash lift, also known as a lash perm, semi-permanently lifts and curls your eyelashes using a chemical solution, giving the result you’d get from false lashes or a curling tool. The solution used has keratin, collagen, and other natural ingredients deemed safe for the eye area. The whole process takes about an hour and offers a lash tint add-on.

What happens during a lash lift?

In the first step, a setting glue will be applied to your lashes on a silicone shield, which will be used to mold the curl shape. The applied perming solution will break the disulfide bonds in your lashes, allowing the hair to be reshaped. It sits for up to 12 minutes, depending on how resistant your hair is, and then another solution sets the desired shape and stops the initial reforming of the disulfide bonds in your hair. If you’re combining your lash lift with lash tinting, the darkening process is the last step.

What to expect after the lash lift?

For the first 24 hours after your lash lift, you should avoid showering or getting your lashes wet in any way (stay away from steam and humidity). It’s also recommended that you avoid wearing mascara or other eye makeup. The results last about 6 to 10 weeks, so you’ll need to get a lash lift every few months if you want to maintain the results.
